Ukraine reduces iron, steel production in 2023
Ukrainian steel companies decreased production in December amid the Russia-Ukraine war, unfavourable global market conditions and logistical problems, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
Last month’s crude steel output amounted to 520,400 tonnes, down by 4.4% compared to November, but more by 3.9 times more on-year, Kallanish notes. Output of pig iron however increased, by 2.8% on-month to 556,700t, which was also up 2.2 times on-year. …
