Ukraine's first-quarter steel output declines, pig iron increases
Ukraine reduced output of crude steel in the first quarter, show national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom preliminary data.
Crude steel output was dented by lower demand from traditional markets, among which Europe is the largest. Output in Q1 totalled 5.29 million tonnes, less by 0.5% on-year. However, production of rolled products increased by 1.2% to 4.73mt.
