Ukraine’s steel production rebounds, pig iron output falls

Ukrainian steel companies increased production in February compared to the previous month amid the Russian-Ukrainian war, unfavourable global market conditions and logistical problems, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom. Last month’s crude steel output amounted to 424,000 tonnes, up by 49.3% on-month, Kallanish notes. Output of pig iron however decreased by 8.1% to 353,000t.
