Ulanhot Steel ignites new blast furnace
Ulanhot Steel in Inner Mongolia has this week ignited its new blast furnace with lower emissions and higher efficiency.
The new 1,200 cubic-metre blast furnace will reach 1.13 million tonnes/year of iron capacity, Kallanish notes. Ulanhot Steel had shut down two smaller BFs, one 503 c-m and one 616 c-m BF in August this year. Daily iron output thus has been reduced by around 5,000 tonnes.
