US construction employment hits 10-year high
US construction employment topped a 10-year high in August, despite the on-going shortage of skilled trade workers, according to the Associated General Contractors of America.
The US added 23,000 jobs from July to August, or 297,000 jobs from August 2017 to August 2018, Kallanish understands.
That puts total US construction employment at more than 7.25 million, its highest level since May 2008 and an increase of 4.3% since August 2017.
