US drops 15 rigs, Canada up 10
The US rig count for the week ended 2 June decreased by 15 week-on-week, bringing the total count to 696. Canada added 10 operational rigs, bringing its weekly total up to 97, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
Of the US total rigs, 555 are for oil and 137 are for gas. The remaining rigs were classified as miscellaneous. This is a decrease of 31 from the equivalent week last year.
