Rig count declines in US, Canada
The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US dropped by five in the week ended 22 March, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes. Canada's total decreased by 38 week-on-week.
The US rig count fell to 624 from the prior week’s tally of 629. Of the total, 509 rigs are for oil and 112 are for gas. Three rigs are categorised as miscellaneous.
