US imports continue to rise in March
US finished steel imports rose from February to March, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
US total imports reached 2.722 million short tons in February, 1.822m st of which were finished steel. Total imports were up 33% from the prior month, while final imports rose 27% from February.
On-month, light-shaped bar imports rose by 75%. Imports of oil country tubular goods and plate rose by 56% and 40%, respectively.
