US imports fall in November
Both US total and finished steel imports fell on-month in November, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing Census Bureau data, the institute puts total steel imports at 1.37 million short tons, 1.181m st of which were finished. That is down -9.2% and -5.5%, respectively, from October.
Notable on-month increases include tinplate, which rose 43%; standard pipe, up 27%; and wire rod, up 21%.
