US raw steel dips slightly
US raw steel production fell slightly on-week but remained up massively on-year in the week ended 22 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.793 million short tons at 79% capability utilisation, down 0.3% from the previous week, when utilisation was 79.2%, but up 46.6% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was just 54.6%.
