US raw steel increases on-week
US raw steel production inched up on-week in the week ended 29 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.836 million short tons at 81.5% capability utilisation, up 2.4% from the previous week, when utilisation was 79%, and up a full 50.1% from the equivalent week last year during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, when utilisation was just 54.6%.
