US raw steel production increases 3%
US raw steel production rose on-week in the week ended 2 January, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.65 million short tons at 74.6% capability utilisation, up 3.1% from the previous week, when utilisation was 72.3%, but down -10.4% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 80.1%.
