US raw steel production ticks up
US raw steel production rose slightly on-week in the week ended 30 January but remains down on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.725 million short tons at 76.1% utilisation, up 0.5% from the previous week, when utilisation was 75.7%, but down -9.5% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 82.4%.
