US rigs rise by 9. Canada up 58
Both the US and Canadian rig counts increased in the week ended 8 January, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count increased by nine net rigs to 360, down 421 from the equivalent count in 2020.
Rigs geared for oil production increased by eight, and rigs geared for natural gas production increased by one.
New Mexico led the notable net increases by state with four, while Ohio posted the lone net loss of one. …
