US scrap continues trending downward
As US scrap prices continue to trend downward, sources are uncertain of future movement, Kallanish reports.
“We may be at the bottom or there may be one more small drop,” says a Midwest source. ”This year has been slow for the entire industry. Volumes at the yard were down early on due to bad weather and when flow picked up, the demand from the mills just hasn’t been there.”
