US Steel breaks ground on new minimill
Joined by Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, US Steel officially broke ground on 8 February on its new 3 million short ton/year flatrolled minimill in Osceola, Arkansas.
The $3 billion greenfield facility will include two electric arc furnaces, an endless casting and rolling line, and advanced finishing capabilities. The company says this will be the first use of the endless casting and rolling technologies in the US.
