US steel imports rose by 43% in 2021, with finished steel imports rising by 41% during the year, Kallanish learns from data supplied by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
According to recently revised Census Bureau data, the US imported 31.5 million short tons of steel during 2021, with finished steel imports reaching 22.8m st over the year.
