US Steel plans new casting, power facilities

US Steel has announced $1 billion in upgrades for its Edgar Thomson mill in Braddock, Pennsylvania, and its Clairton, Pennsylvania, coke works, Kallanish reports. The upgrades include a new endless casting and rolling facility in Braddock and a cogeneration facility at Clairton.
