US steel production slides on-week, on-year
US raw steel production for the week of 26 November was 1.625 million short tons with a capability utilisation rate of 72.8%, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. The figure represents an 11.1% decrease from 26 November, 2021, when production was 1.83m st and utilisation was 82.8%.
Raw steel production decreased by 0.2% since last week, when production was 1.63m st and capability was 73%.
