US Steel taps Harju Elekter for motor controls
US Steel has tapped Harju Elekter UAB to provide motor controls for its new mini-mill in Osceola, Arkansas in a deal worth €10 million euros ($10.9m).
With production scheduled to begin this year, Harju will manufacture low voltage drives and MCC systems to control 1,500 motors in US Steel’s Big River Steel works. Deliveries are expected to continue through April 2023, Kallanish understands.
