Usiminas resumes operations at Ipatinga blast furnace #1
Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas has restarted its blast furnace number 1 at its Ipatinga mill in Minas Gerais. This was confirmed by the company in a note monitored by Kallanish.
“The resumption of operations of Blast furnace #1 will increase company's current production capacity and will reduce the purchase of steel plates from third parties,” Usiminas says.
