Steelworkers criticise US Steel for idling Granite City
The United Steelworkers (USW) union is condemning US Steel for its decision to idle the company's mill in Granite City, Illinois, Kallanish reports.
“US Steel’s decision to idle steelmaking at Granite City Works once again demonstrates its callous disregard for its dedicated workforce, who for generations have served as the backbone of the company’s success,” contends David McCall, the international president of USW.
