Vale Oman pellet output plunges in fourth quarter
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production plunge -27% on-year in the fourth quarter of 2020 to 1.75 million tonnes, the Brazilian miner says without providing a reason behind the drop. This was also down -30% from Q3.
The Oman plant thus accounted for 24.6% of Vale’s consolidated Q4 pellet output versus 25.5% in Q4 2019 and 29% in Q3 2020.
