Vale's Oman plant maintains steady pellet output
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production rise 2.7% on-year in the third quarter to 2.48 million tonnes, although this was down -0.2% versus Q2, Kallanish learns from the Brazilian miner.
The Oman plant thus accounted for 29% of Vale’s consolidated Q3 pellet output versus 22% in Q3 2019 but 35% in Q2 2020.
Pellet output in the nine months through September nevertheless still dropped -14% on-year to 5.88mt.
