Vedanta steel output drops, iron ore production increases
Vedanta Group-owned ESL Steel’s saleable finished steel output decreased 13% on-year to 306,000 tonnes in the third quarter of the fiscal year ending 31 March 2023 (FQ3). This also dropped 6% on-quarter against 325,000t produced in FQ2, Kallanish notes.
ESL produced 212,000t of billet, 98,000t of wire rod, 97,000t of TMT bar, 54,000t of pig iron and 45,000t of ductile iron pipe in FQ3.
