Vietnamese HRC market soars on China surge
Vietnam's hot rolled coil import market has soared in line with the surging Chinese futures market, Kallanish notes.
China-origin 3mm base thickness Q195 HRC offers for shipment by early February sprang up to around $575/tonne cfr Vietnam on Friday. Offers were at $560-565/t cfr the week before. Chinese 3-12mm thickness Q235 grade HRC is now offered at $575-580/t cfr, up from $560-570/t cfr the week before.
