Weak China demand curtails Oman Chromite shipments

Oman Chromite (OC)’s sales of chrome ore declined -13% on-year in 2015 to 21,270 tonnes due to weaker demand in its main market of China. This was caused by China’s slowing economic growth and its increasing replacement of chromite imports with those of ferrochrome. The domestic market accounted for 47% of sales.
