Weekly US steel output declines again
Raw steel production in the US declined just slightly during the week ending 9 October, Kallanish learns from the latest data from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US mills produced 1.858 million short tons of raw steel with a capability utilisation rate of 84.2% during the week. Output was down less than 1% from 1.872m st the prior week when capability utilisation was 84.8%.
