Xianfu Steel starts second-phase construction
Yunnan Yuxi Xianfu Iron & Steel has started construction of the new No.2 blast furnace, marking the official start of the second phase of its upgrade project, Kallanish observes.
The new 1,350m³ BF will cost CNY 6 billion ($941 million), along with a 100-tonne converter and a 1,050mm strip production line. Phase I, which houses an identical BF and converter, was commissioned in January (see Kallanish passim).
