Xining Special returns to black on restructuring proceeds
Xining Special Steel, the only special steelmaker in Northwest China, reported positive 2023 earnings due to restructuring gains after two years of losses, Kallanish notes.
In 2023, the company produced 134,100 tonnes of coke, 738,400t of crude steel and 697,300t of finished steel. The figures are down 71%, 39% and 42% respectively on the prior year.
