China's Xinyu to replace small EAFs
Southeastern China’s Jiangxi Xinyu Iron & Steel has published its approved capacity replacement plan, according to the local Industry & Information Technology Commission. It plans to add one 100-tonne electric arc furnace and remove two smaller ones, balancing out the impact on total steel capacity, Kallanish notes.
