Xinyu Steel to upgrade blast furnaces
Jiangxi-based Xinyu Iron and Steel has announced the blast furnace upgrade plan at its current steelmaking plant in Xinyu city.
The steelmaker will newly build two 2,610 cubic-metre blast furnaces, with a total of 4.364 million tonnes/year of iron capacity, Kallanish notes. The new facilities will start construction in September 2023, and Xinyu Steel aims to complete construction by December 2025.
