Xiwang orders Danieli bloom caster
Eastern China’s Shandong Xiwang Special Steel has ordered a new twin strand jumbo bloom caster from Danieli, the Italian engineer says. The line will allow the 5 million tonne/year steelmaker to cast up to 800mm rounds, Kallanish notes.
The new caster will have a nominal radius of 16.5m and produce 450,000 t/y of jumbo blooms. This will allow the company to produce low and medium carbon structural steel rounds in 600, 700, and 800mm diameters.
