Zhongjin commissions slab caster
China’s Zhongjin Metal Technology has commissioned a two-strand six-metre continuous slab caster, according to equipment supplier Central Steel Union. The project introduction shows the two-month upgrade of the caster is part of a wider programme of upgrades at the plant.
The upgraded caster will produce slab with a width between 655-735mm. THis will then be hot rolled to a thickness around 200mm, Kallanish notes.
