The beginning of 2020 has brought a number of major uncertainties to the steel market. The International Rebar Exporters and Producers Association, Irepas, has issued its first outlook of the year qnd confirms that many conflicting factors are making the establishment of firm prognoses quite difficult.

In the long products market, for example, sentiment has improved with the anticipation of a US-China trade deal being signed. Previous fears of a possible recession, moreover, seem to have been overblown. Nevertheless, until the deal is signed between China and the US administration, many things can still happen.
