Albemarle starts construction of new lithium hydroxide plant in China
Jiangxi Albemarle, a wholly-owned subsidiary of US lithium producer Albemarle, announced on Friday it has started the construction of a 50,000 tonnes/year battery-grade lithium hydroxide project in China.
The new lithium conversion facility will be built at an industry park in Fengyi County, Jiangxi Province. It will produce enough lithium to power over 1.5 million EVs/year, although the schedule for first production is yet to be confirmed.
