Avesta Battery to build 22 GWh gigafactory in Romania
Belgian company Avesta Battery & Energy Engineering (ABEE) will invest €1.4 billion ($1.52 billion) in a battery gigafactory in the Romania city of Galați, according to its mayor Ionut Pukanu.
The plant will have annual capacity to produce 22 gigawatt-hours of battery cells, creating 8,000 new jobs, Kallanish learns.
“It is about the biggest investment in the field in Romania, which will be made by ABEE,” Pukani announced on Thursday. …
