NICKEL, COBALT: BASF, Eramet partner on nickel-cobalt refinery project
German chemicals giant BASF and French mining firm Eramet are to collaborate on the development of a new nickel-cobalt refinery project, Kallanish reports.
The two firms agreed a partnership to jointly assess the development of a new nickel and cobalt hydrometallurgical refining complex in Indonesia. The purpose of the development is to create both precursor and active cathode elements for use in the production of electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
