CMOC becomes world’s No. 1 cobalt producer after 2023 output boost
Chinese miner CMOC Group has become the world’s largest cobalt producer, thanks to a 174% on-year production boost in 2023, Kallanish reports.
The company formerly known as China Moly said in a security filing on Thursday that its cobalt metal production surged to 55,526 tonnes last year, compared to 20,286 t in 2022. The growth reflects the strong operational performance at its Tenke-Fungureme and Kisanfu mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).…
