EU copper imports from Russia shrink 80% in 2023
EU imports of Russian refined copper have dropped 79% on-year to 62,400 tonnes in 2023. In monetary terms, imports collapsed by 81%, Kallanish learns.
In December alone, the Netherlands was the only country importing the red metal from Russian suppliers, though only 50 t entered its border. In 2023, imports from the Netherlands declined to 18,100 t last year, from 158,000 t in 2022.
