German consortium researches continuous battery recycling route
A consortium led by Volkswagen and funded by the German government wants to prove EV batteries can be recycled multiple times, Kallanish reports.
HVBatClycle, which includes both companies and German research institutions, will work for three years on ways to keep cathode metals, electrolyte and graphite permanently in a closed loop. They say that to use fewer materials from primary sources, these raw materials should be recovered and reused several times.
