GM reaches agreement with UAW on EV battery manufacturing
Concessions made by General Motors have helped the Big Three avoid a strike expansion, according to Shawn Fain, the president of the United Auto Workers’ (UAW) union.
The UAW has been engaged in contract negotiations with GM, Ford and Stellantis since late July. Following months of failed discussions, the UAW initiated on 15 September the “Stand Up Strike” that has since pulled about 25,000 UAW workers off the line.
