Highland council rejects BESS project in Inverness
The Highland Council has rejected the Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC club’s application to build a battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Inverness, Scotland.
Submitted last February, the application was for a 50-megawatt BESS project at a former golf course land next to Fairways Business Park. Although the football club was initially granted planning permission for the project last month, the council later decided to review the decision.
