IEA calls on O&G industry to do more for energy transition
Oil and gas producers that want to align with the Paris Agreement goals should put 50% of their capex towards clean energy projects by 2030, the International Energy Agency said on Thursday.
This would be on top of the investment requirement to reduce emissions from their own operations, the Paris-based agency says in a new report. It highlights that the sector “has been a marginal force at best in transitioning to a clean energy system.”
