LGES outlines plans for Arizona facility, battery upgrades
LG Energy Solution (LGES) plans to boost the production capacity of its Arizona battery plant to 36 gigawatt-hours, up from 27 GWh.
The announcement was made during LGES’ Q3 2023 earnings call, which also outlined its wider battery production goals. LGES previously planned to produce “2170” format cells at the facility, but it will now produce energy-dense “4680” cylindrical battery cells, eyeing a production start of late 2025.
