LKAB becomes major shareholder in Norwegian rare earth company
Swedish iron ore miner LKAB said Tuesday it invested NOK 400 million ($39.5m) in Norwegian rare earth company REEtec AS, becoming its largest shareholder, Kallanish reports.
The investment was part of a NOK 1.2 billion capital raise to fund REEtec’s first rare earth separation plant, to be located in Herøya, Norway. New shareholders Nysnø Klimainvesteringer, Mercuria, and TechMet also joined former largest owner Scatec Innovation.
