MP picks Texas, nabs GM with rare earth magnet project
MP Materials Corp has opted to build its planned rare earth metal, alloy and magnet facility in Fort Worth, Texas, with General Motors as its new long-term customer.
GM will use the rare earth materials and magnets in its Ultium Platform vehicle motors. The Ultium line is expected to begin production in 2023, Kallanish reports.
