Nio may carve out battery department
Chinese electric vehicle company Nio is rumoured to be planning to carve out its battery manufacturing business, though the company is yet to confirm such plans, Kallanish notes.
Unnamed sources cited by Chinese media claim Nio intends to make the battery department a separate new company, and start related external financing as soon as this month. The valuation would be decided later and only the top engineers are expected to join the independent battery company…
