Samsung SDI battery revenue drops 6.4% in Q4 2023
South Korean battery maker Samsung SDI reported a 6.4% drop in revenue in its battery business during Q4 2023, both quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year, to nearly KRW 5 trillion ($3.8 billion), Kallanish notes.
In addition, the battery segment’s Q4 operating profit plunged by 45% q-o-q and 37% y-o-y to KRW 226 billion. However, the division reported a 16.2% increase in revenue during 2023 to KRW 20.4 trillion.
