Stellantis to start recycling batteries in 2026
Stellantis will create a joint venture with French industrial group Orano to recycle end-of-life electric vehicle batteries and scrap from gigafactories in Europe and North America, Kallanish learns.
The venture is part of an effort to accelerate the circular economy and have additional access to cobalt, nickel and lithium. The new plant will be located on one of the Stellantis French facilities, and production is due to start in 2026.
